There was no need for Monday motivation for a lucky Donegal National Lottery player who today popped into Lotto HQ to claim a cool €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize. The delighted winner picked up his prize as Tuesday’s EuroMillions Jackpot is set to roll to a mind-blowing €90 million, one of the highest of the year. The Donegal winner was joined in the National Lottery winners’ room with his family to collect his cheque for a half million euro after he became the 19th EuroMillions Plus winner in Ireland so far this year. He purchased his lucky ticket for last Tuesday’s draw at McGettigan’s Applegreen Service Station, in Lifford. The winner said: “We couldn’t wait to get up to Dublin to finally hand over the winning ticket! I’d heard about the win locally on Wednesday morning so I scanned my ticket and couldn’t believe it when I realised I was holding a winner. It’s an incredible amount of money and I’m looking forward to the freedom it will bring me and my family.”Meanwhile, a National Lottery spokesperson said excitement is mounting as the EuroMillions jackpot is heading to a massive €90 million.“This is one of the biggest EuroMillions rolls of the year and we are hoping it will be a case of the luck of the Irish tomorrow! With many people on holidays and out of routine we are reminding them that as well as in-store they can play anywhere in Ireland online or through the National Lottery App.” It’s us – local family claim €500,000 lotto win! was last modified: August 15th, 2018 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:euromillionsLiffordlottowinner
‘Cannon Busters’ Is The Black Anime We’ve Been Waiting…‘Dolemite Is My Name’ Trailer Shows Bawdy Blaxploitation Biopic Stay on target A pair of spicy rumors from over the weekend about some of the biggest upcoming movies share something in common. When it comes to making their aging franchises feel vibrant and relevant again, it seems like Hollywood is finally realizing that sometimes an old white dude should be a young Black lady instead. We’re not complaining.First, ComicBook.com did some snooping to maybe find some unannounced Marvel Phase 4 films before they presumably get unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. They did this by searching for Facebook URLs the studio may have created but not yet pushed live for a coordinated social media launch. Doing this revealed pages for upcoming Marvel films we already know about like Black Widow and The Eternals. However, there were a few apparent scoops as well. The site found pages for Dark Avengers and Young Avengers, and while we don’t fully trust this reporting method those two movies make sense. After years of traditional superhero team-ups in the first four Avengers films, making movies about teams of supervillains as well as younger superheroes would be a fun way to mix things up.Arguably more exciting though was a URL for Marvel’s Ironheart, seemingly announcing the introduction of Riri Williams into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A legacy character in the vein of Miles Morales (also created by Brian Michael Bendis) young Black woman Riri Williams was first the new Iron Man before getting her own superhero name. And with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man now dead in the movies (no matter how many dumb petitions you sign) there’s no better time to pass on the torch. Let Spider-Man be his own thing!Speaking of passing the torch, the upcoming unnamed Bond 25 may feature a similar shakeup according to the Daily Mail. Details remain scarce on the Cary Joji Fukunawa film, which seems plagued with production issues. But the rumors suggest that in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s new script, James Bond’s post-Spectre retirement has allowed a Black woman spy to inherit the MI6 mantle of agent 007, while avoiding Bond’s own regressive sexual advances. That Black woman is apparently played Lashana Lynch, who is already confirmed for the film’s cast. Lynch appeared in Captain Marvel earlier this year as the mother of eventual Black woman Captain Marvel successor Monica Rambeau. She’s also slated to star in next year’s FX adaptation of Y: The Last Man. But she’s still a relative unknown, which is a great quality for new 007s including Daniel Craig. Sorry, Idris Elba. Here’s hoping Lynch’s 007 sticks around after this movie, which also might see the return of Christoph Waltz as Bond’s big bad Blofeld along with new villain played by Rami Malek. These movies don’t tend to care that much for continuity. Remember when they were going to give Halle Berry’s Die Another Day character (Jinx?) a spin-off?Black women. They made Apex Legends better. They can make your endless movie #brands better, too.
