It was a record-setting Sunday in the XFL.First, in the nation’s capital, there was a really, really long beer snake. Then, on the West Coast, the Vipers became the first team in the XFL to score over 40 points. That’s really the entire XFL experience in a nutshell. The Wildcats found their groove and halted the momentum of the Vipers, who jumped out to a big lead and let it slip away from their bind. Still, the game came down to the wire, and a Taylor Cornelius interception in the end zone sealed the loss for the Vipers.Earlier in the day, the Defenders downed the BattleHawks and grounded Jordan Ta’amu in DC. Ta’amu, arguably the league’s best QB, was bottled up and held to just six points on the day. In other QB news, Cardale Jones was benched in favor of Tyree Jackson, who guided the Defenders to the 15-6 win.Sporting News provided updates, highlights and more from Sunday’s Week 5 XFL action.MORE: The XFL is in ‘Madden 20′ thanks to a dedicated team that made it happenTampa Bay Vipers vs. LA Wildcats: Score, highlightsFinal: Wildcats 41, Vipers 3412:16 a.m. TAMPA BAY TURNOVER: Taylor Cornelius throws an interception in the end zone to end the Vipers’ comeback attempt.
